LEXICOLOGY
⏩Definition
⭐ lexicology as a branch of linguistics has its own aims and methods of scientific research, its basic task being a study and systematic description of vocabulary in respect to its origin, development and current use.
⭐ lexicology is concerned with words, variable
words groups, phraseological units, and with morphemes which make up words.
💥TYPES OF LEXICOLOGY
1. GENERAL LEXICOLOGY
Is concerned with the general of words and vocabulary irrespective of the specipic feature of any particuiar language
2. SPECIAL LEXICOLOGY
🔹Descriptive Lexicology
Synchronically, these word are related as a simple word (to beg) and a derived word (beggar). The noun beggar is derived from the verb to beg by means of the suffix.
🔹 Historical Lexicology
Diachronically we learn that the noun beggar was borrowed feom old french and the verb to beg appeared in the english language as a result of back derivation the formation of a word from the stem (base) of another word, by means of cutting off suffixes (prefixes) from the source word. I,e,. It was deribed from the noun Beggar.
For example the word "cook", it has various meaning in its usage, as described in the dictionary as follows:
1. Get old until it can be picked, eaten, etc.
Example: not yet cook this sweet potatoes
2. Process, make snack
Example: cook cake layer
3. Has become
Example: Although it has been boiled an hour, not cook this sweet potatoes.

Hapushi.. why u chose this matery? and for ur post, i need more example of general lexicoogy.. thank u
BalasHapusBecause this is chose the last. Than semantics, I understand little little more lexicology..I think just that.
HapusThanks for suggestion devi😊
haii revit , i wanna ask how we know some of word from general lexicology and what is the example of general lexicology ?
BalasHapusLike general linguistics, of which lexicology is a branch, lexicology can be both historical and descriptive, the former dealing with the origin and development of the form and meaning of the lexical units in a particular languages across time and the latter studying the vocabulary of a language as a system at a particular point of time. But there are many areas in lexicology, where one cannot be studied in isolation, without regard to the other. They are, thus, interdependent.
Hapusi wanna ask for you revit my opinion for example about lexicology is false because i learn about lexicology not like that try my blog about lexocology thank revit:)
BalasHapusThanks ana for suggestion..Im so sorry for my topic, because I still learn and may be I not yet understand about my topic. In here I done try to learn more better..thank ana😊
HapusHay can you tell me one of example applied to lingustic especially in lexical?
BalasHapushttps://books.google.co.id/books?hl=en&lr=&id=FpMnBwAAQBAJ&oi=fnd&pg=PR5&dq=new+research+about+lexicology&ots=ARSzAl6-gY&sig=ieK8sRcfxFBDtr2JlHKPM8M5SAQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=new%20research%20about%20lexicology&f=false

U like your blog so neat but flat thankyou
BalasHapusHaha thanks my sist. Now I processing eat much, may be can make my body big little little lah😅😅 so that not flat lah ya😃
Hapushay vit, please give example about your topic and please tell me about lexical,!
BalasHapusAnother example is the comparison of British laksem (meat and flesh). The difference between the two laksem can be explained as follows: the meaning of the word meat is the type of edible food, while the meaning of the word flesh is the opposite. However, in both Indonesian languages-both laxatives of meat. Thus, what is distinguished in English is according to whether or not it is eaten while in Indonesian there is no difference in that. This simple example shows a more convoluted lexical system in a particular language when compared to other specific languages.
HapusRevit , your blog is simple and I like it but I still don't understand about your topic and why we have to learn lexicology
BalasHapusbecause lexicology learns words, if we do not know the words how can we speak politely with others? How do we know if the word has many meanings? By studying lexicology we can know that one word contains more than one meaning.
HapusHallo pipit,The material you wrote on your blog a little please release more about the material and give a simple example that is easy to understand and one more please explain about the concept map that you create in your blog,
BalasHapusThank you
Thanks adel for your kritik. That will make me more wrote better again, and like your kritik very very Benefits😊
HapusHi revit, ur blog is look great. And i wanna ask you, what is the relation of morphology and lexicalogy? And give us a different of both. Thankyou
BalasHapusMorphology
HapusMorphology is the description given to the structure of a languages morphemes and other linguistic units. These linguistic units are elements such as: root words, affixes, parts of speech, intonation/stress, or implied context.
A part of Morphology is distinguishing between the different ways of changing a current word, either through inflectional change or word formation. An example of an inflectional change would be the word dog becoming dogs when referring to the plural. An example of word formation is creating the word dogcatcher from dog.
Inflectional changes are where a lexeme is changed for a plural but the true essence of the word doesn't change, on the other hand word formation changes the meaning of the word but retains the use of the original lexeme.
Lexicology
Lexicology is the branch of linguistics that deals with the study of words, this may also include the function as symbols and their meaning. The term lexicology is derived from the Greek word lexicon which means "of our words".
Inside the study of the Lexicology, there is a subsystem called, Computational Lexicology, this covers the study of dictionaries.
Lexicology also has a cousin known as Lexicography which integrates conventional Lexicology and Computational Lexicology, it involves the integration of the study of words as well as their link to written texts and dictionaries.
While many people believe that Lexicography is a division of Lexicology, technically speaking people who write dictionaries are lexicographers and not lexicologists.
Lexicology in some areas encompasses the fields of syntax and semantics, the link between Semantics and Lexicology is called Lexical Semantics.
Just that my answer..thanks
your post so short i cant understand that!
BalasHapusso give me more explain about it..........

HapusYour ask same with yeni right😊
I think your blog so far so good but i can't understand if i just read that i need more you exlplain about lexicology
BalasHapusOk Romi..thanks for your suggestion. Very benefits to me😊
HapusWhen I came to this blog, im lost the way out, there is no light over here.
BalasHapusIn other words, I need a simple explaination to understand this lexicology.
A change in meaning is not followed by any structural changes, either morphemic or phonetic.
HapusLike word-forms variants of words are identified in the process of communication as making up one and the same word.
Thus, within the language system the word exists as a system and unity of all its forms and variants..Like that I know simple explanation about lexicology..
Yeahh nothing light on my blog, because light is in my eyes😅😜
Hello revit. This matterial same with me, but you lebih menguasai yg mana? :D
BalasHapusI dont know. But I more understand definition of lexicology. Type's little little lah..very difficult to understand material of lexicology but we must Responsible and live what we choose..keep learn and learn,
